Keeping children safe online

Safety Net Online Safety Webinar for Parents and Carers

Keeping children safe online has never been more important. From gaming and social media to hidden apps and online chat, young people are facing more risks than ever before – and as parents and carers, it can feel overwhelming trying to keep up.

Our 90-minute online session, created especially for parents and carers, will give you the knowledge and confidence to guide your children safely in the digital world. The session includes a live Q&A, giving you the chance to ask questions, share concerns, and hear from others facing the same challenges.

During the session, you’ll learn:

  • The real dangers children may face online.
  • Why young people sometimes make risky choices – and how you can support them.
  • Practical, simple strategies to help keep your child safe when using social media, gaming, and other online platforms.
  • How to start open, honest conversations with your child so they feel supported, not judged.

This is a supportive and eye-opening session that every parent and carer should attend – helping you feel more prepared, more confident, and better equipped to guide your children safely through the digital world.

“As a foster care agency, we have been delighted to bring this important and eye-opening training to our carers. Safety Net addresses all the concerns, we have about what children are vulnerable to when accessing the online world. The training has helped our parents to engage and develop the skills to recognise and reduce the real risks young people are exposed to. Great resources.”
Tina, Foster Care Agency
“Our school is in a financially deprived area and budgets are currently difficult. The ‘Train the Trainer’ session has allowed me and the school to communicate vital important issues that are affecting our children to parents with ease in a way that is relevant and contextual to our school.”
Mia, Year 5 teacher
